Batman and Wonder Woman React to 'Thor: Ragnarok' Trailer

Hulk Thor Ragnarok

Not only did Hela (played by Cate Blanchett) introduce herself to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she did so by making a huge statement, if you can call destroying Thor's hammer a statement. In the trailer, countless creatures are seen all around Thor who wants him to battle like a gladiator in an arena.

In Norse mythology, Hel or Hela is the ruler of hell and Loki's daughter and we have to say that the teaser belonged to Cate Blanchett's portrayal of the character. Is it really just that people watch trailers more often these days, or is it something else? Thor: Ragnarok is the continuation of the events following the Avengers flick, Age of Ultron.

With that, fans are speculating that the movie will feature several sequences of Thor without his hammer, which, as most would agree, can't end well.

The trailer starts with Thor wrapped up in chains falling into a fiery abyss, where he breaks the fourth wall and asks the audience if they know how he got there.

The fight Loki appears to be watching is set to be the biggest set-piece of Thor: Ragnarok - the fight between Thor and Hulk!

More news: Jordan Spieth is already winking at his Masters demons

By getting New Zealand comedian/director Taika Waititi on board for Ragnarok, Marvel accepted that Thor's character needed a revamp and found just the right tone.

In less than two minutes, Thor: Ragnarok emerges as Marvel's glorious step towards the light, leaving DC rivals Batman & co alone in the dark. What the folks at Marvel have now revealed is what critics are calling one of the best Marvel film trailers ever. Would that more movies were so willing to surprise the audience.

Even though it was only short, Thor: Ragnarok's first look teased director Taiki Waititi's lighter approach to the stories of the Asgardian God, as well as boasting a psychedelic high-fantasy feel to the instalment. What we do know is that Mark Ruffalo completed his scenes for Thor: Ragnarok several months before filming wrapped.

The film is slated for release from October 25 internationally with a USA release date of November 3.
